Ted Lasso, the sports comedy, is coming back for a fourth season soon after airing the last episode of season three back in 2023. The Apple TV show was created by Jason Sudeikis (who also plays the lead), Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly. It portrays the story of how an American coach, Ted Lasso, who the owner expects to fail, is hired to coach an English Soccer team. However, he surprisingly succeeds at his job. So Long, Farewell (Season 3, Episode 12)
This Ted Lasso episode aired on 31st May 2023. It wrapped up season three and featured important events. For instance, Manchester won the league as Richmond came second, and Ted announced his return to the U.S. with Coach Beard. Meanwhile, Rebecca contemplated selling the club and ultimately sold 49% to the fans and later reunited with the man from Amsterdam. Beard stayed behind, married Jane, and Roy became the new manager while starting therapy with Dr. Sharon. Keeley's PR firm is shown to be expanding, and she proposes creating a Richmond women’s team for Rebecca. Trent renames his book The Richmond Way at Ted’s request. Beard, Roy, and Nate restore the "Believe" sign, and Ted returns home and coaches his son's team, ending his journey with Richmond. It is the best Ted Lasso episode because it wrapped up the third season and had some big changes. It also showed Ted leaving, which is an obvious cliffhanger yet to be explained in season four. Mom City (Season 3, Episode 11)
This Ted Lasso episode aired on 24th May 2023 and was season three's penultimate episode. Dottie’s surprise visit to London made Ted uncomfortable and uncovered his unresolved feelings about his childhood and his father’s death. Meanwhile, Nate started a new job at A Taste of Athens and declined an offer from Will and the Richmond players to return to the team. As Richmond faced Manchester City, Jamie struggled with anxiety about playing in his hometown and the possibility of seeing his father. Ted helped Jamie work through his emotions, leading Richmond to victory, while his father watched supportively from rehab. After the match, Ted persuaded Beard to forgive Nate, which eventually led to Beard offering Nate a job at Richmond. Ted reconciles with Dottie at the end of the episode, speaking of the past and about Ted's son. The episode is the second-best Ted Lasso episode and a celebrated one as it touches several emotional angles and explores issues at a deeper level. The Hope That Kills You (Season 1, Episode 10)
This Ted Lasso episode aired on 2nd October 2020, and wrapped up season one. In this episode, Nate became Richmond's assistant coach and tried to inspire the team with a video of Jamie, but after Jamie insulted Richmond, Isaac smashed the screen. Rebecca encouraged Ted to use trick plays, and Roy handed the captaincy to Isaac. In the final match, Manchester City leads 1–0, and Roy injures his knee, stopping Jamie. Richmond tied the game with the "Lasso special," but Jamie’s final pass helped City win, leading to Richmond’s relegation. Ted comforts the team and sends Jamie a note and a toy soldier after seeing his father criticize him. Rebecca rejected Ted’s resignation, and they vowed to earn promotion and win it all next season. Man City (Season 2, Episode 8)
This Ted Lasso episode aired on 10th September 2021. In the episode, Sharon suffered a concussion in a biking accident, and Ted took her home from the hospital. Rebecca and Sam discovered they were Bantr matches and shared a platonic dinner that ended with a kiss, though they initially agreed not to continue. Roy learned that his swearing is affecting his niece Phoebe, while Richmond lost to Manchester City at Wembley. Jamie's father criticized him after the match, and Jamie punched him, causing Beard to escort the man out. Roy consoled a tearful Jamie, and that moment compels Ted to open up to Sharon about his father’s suicide when he was sixteen. Rebecca and Sam later chose to spend the night together. Make Rebecca Great Again (Season 1, Episode 7)
This Ted Lasso episode aired on 11th September 2020. In the episode, AFC Richmond traveled to Liverpool to play Everton, a team they hadn’t beaten in six decades. The trip coincided with Rebecca and Rupert’s wedding anniversary, so Keeley joined Rebecca to lift up her spirits. On the trip, they met Rebecca’s friend Sassy, who took a liking to Ted, but Ted, struggling with his divorce, got drunk and snapped at Nate. He apologized the next morning, and Nate gave a bold pre-game speech that helped Richmond win. At a karaoke bar the next evening, Rebecca's singing talents were revealed, but Ted had a panic attack. Rebecca comforted him, and later, Sassy visited Ted. Roy kissed Keeley, while Rebecca spent the night with a waiter.
