Lonely hearts unite!

Ah, Valentine's Day. The supposed feast day of St. Valentine -- although, its true history is thought to be much darker – and the time of year we celebrate our significant others with cheesy cards, chalky heart-shaped candies, flowers, romantic dinners, and jewelry. Or, at least, that's how they tell us we're supposed to do it, but what about those of us who don't have a partner? Or those of us who'd rather just skip it all together? Luckily, Valentine's Day is a great day to go throw back a few drinks at the bar, more specifically:

The Hi-Dive

For just $10, you can soothe a lonely heart in the best way possible: a healthy dose of country music. This year, the High Dive on Broadway welcomes back "Sweethearts of the Rodeo".

Grandma's House Brewing

Have you ever wanted to try knitting? Well, why not start on Valentine's Day? Grandma's House brewing offers their 'intro to knitting' at 6:30 p.m. Then, stick around for stand up comedy at 8 p.m.

Piper Inn

Our favorite biker bar is an escape from most of life's riff-raff, including Valentine's Day. For a complete absence of drama and great chicken wings, why not hit the Piper and let things pass?

Hudson Hill

If you're around Capitol Hill, keep your eye on Hudson HIll. They've hosted speed dating before called 'Stranger Danger' and how can that be anything but great? Plus, we've heard they have fantastic cocktails.

NATIV Hotel

The NATIV Hotel has been known to throw quite the soiree, and last year they threw one just for singles. Chances are it'll be back.

20 Mile Tap House

Okay, this one's in Parker, but if you're the type who doesn't want to go all the way downtown, this is probably the best bar in all of Parker. Basically, we mean it's perfect on Valentine's Day. They'll even have an open mic that night!

Thinking about getting a new car? Here's why you should buy used instead ...

George Erbert
George is a Denver native who has an unapologetic love for cars, strong coffee, road trips, and -- despite his youthful appearance -- bygone eras of country music. In his free time, you'll find him carving mountain back roads in whatever car he's lent for the weekend, reading, writing, or unsuccessfully trying to replicate things shown on any of Anthony Bourdain's TV shows.
