North Texas junior Brenen Lorient has reportedly withdrawn from the 2025 NBA draft and will transfer to West Virginia, according to Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress. Lorient was an All-American Athletic Conference first-team selection last season, averaging 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 blocks. He was also the Sixth Man of the Year after finishing second in the country in reserve scoring (421 points). The 6-foot-9 forward made the largest increase in scoring among all conference players after averaging 2.2 points per game during his previous season at Florida Atlantic. He finished in double figures 22 times, including a season-high 20 points and 13 rebounds on Jan. 22. Lorient entered the transfer portal last month after one season with the Mean Green while also declaring for the draft. After testing the process, he is withdrawing his name from consideration and following head coach Ross Hodge to Morgantown. Hodge has been busy in the transfer portal since taking over the position in March, adding the likes of Treysen Eaglestaff (North Dakota), Honor Huff (Chattanooga) and Chance Moore (St. Bonaventure). He also recently secured the commitment of four-star prospect Jayden Forsythe. Lorient will now be able to move to a power conference and continue his career. He projects to be a key addition for the Mountaineers as they begin a new era under Hodge.
