SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Green beer will be flowing at breweries across the Ozarks this weekend while floats and marchers make their way through downtown for Springfield’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. If you’re looking for a last-minute way to celebrate, here’s our list of fun to be had around Springfield for St. Patrick’s Day. The Downtown Springfield Association invites the community to what it calls “The People’s Parade,” which starts on historic C-Street, then heads south on Boonville to Park Central Square. If your organization or group is interested in participating in the parade, the Downtown Springfield Association is still accepting applications for floats. For more information, visit itsalldowntown.com/stpatricksparade . Celebrate the luck of the Irish at 4 by 4 Brewing with beer, live music and more. This local brewery is introducing two new beers, including an Irish Red Cream Ale and a Red Ale, and will have three different varieties of St. Patty’s slushies (including a non-alcoholic version). Live entertainment, including a performance from the Celtic Fire Irish Dance Company, will be a feature all day alongside food and drink specials (complete with green beer). Create your own St. Patrick’s inspired clay piece at this Art Zone event. Make a leprechaun hat vase or a shamrock photo holder, or choose from a selection of paint your own pottery. Lindberg’s Tavern is celebrating the luck of the Irish with Guinness beer and a special menu featuring corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and an Irish breakfast brunch special on Sunday the 16th with back bacon, soda bread, and more. Lindberg’s will also cap off Saturday’s festivities with a performance from Ozarks Belladonna, starting at 8:30 p.m. Members of the IAFF Local 152 Pipes and Drums will be at Springfield Brewing for a performance to celebrate St. Patty’s Day while you enjoy a McDaniel’s Irish Stout or a Hinterland Bourbon Cream (or two) at Ty Iechyd Da.
