Don't deprive yourself of life.

A common joke we have amongst the writers in the office is "everything in moderation ... including moderation," and it's usually uttered before stuffing our faces full of something our doctor told us would kill us some day. I'll leave the rest up to your imagination. Yet, because we're human, it's often followed by a cocktail of feelings and thoughts that make us question things – things like could moderation actually be achieved at say ... Cold Stone? Better yet, can your New Year's resolution be upheld at Cold Stone?

The short answer? Yes.

We found out that there's a whole secret 'healthy' side to Cold Stone, one that we never knew existed. Okay, so it's not necessarily a secret per se, but I've just never actually cared how many health recommendations I've violated. But, now that I'm older, my metabolism is probably slowing, and I've sprouted a few greys, I'm beginning to think that maybe I should. Enough about my one-third life crisis though, let's get to this 'secret.'

And that is: Did you know that they sell frozen yogurt (and for those who can't have dairy, Sorbet)? I know that's so 2010 of me, but at 34 calories per ounce and a healthy dose of probiotic bacteria (the yogurt actually has the National Yogurt Association's Live & Active Culture seal), could this be the answer?

It depends. Some of you are going to cry "S-word" (I'm talking about sugar, and yes, we all know how bad it is for you). My thought is, if you're going to have the sugar anyway, you might as well have it without the added fat and get some probiotics. Just make sure you get a 'like-it' size and don't go too often, that way you and your resolution will be just fine.

You can even add some fresh fruit or nuts as mix-ins that way you can make a futile attempt impress the cyclist or CrossFit junkie in your group.
