TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Crews responded to a house fire Thursday afternoon in East Topeka. The blaze was reported around 3:45 p.m. Thursday at 2726 S.E. Granger St. The location was just west of Lake Shawnee. According to the Topeka Fire Department, crews arriving on the scene found smoke visible at the two-story residence. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and were able to keep it contained to the house where it started. Topeka Fire Department officials said no one was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire or the dollar los associated with the blaze. The fire remained under investigation. In addition to the Topeka Fire Department, Evergy, Kansas Gas Service and American Medical Response ambulance personnel responded to the scene.
