As a result of tying for a division championship last year, the Arlington Forest diving team will compete one level higher this summer in the Northern Virginia Swimming League . Arlington Forest tied for the Division VII crown with a 4-1 record last summer. Teams that finish first often are moved up at least one division. That will be the case for Arlington Forest, which will compete in Division VI this summer when the schedule begins with a Tuesday, June 17 road meet at 6 p.m. against Sleepy Hollow in Falls Church. Arlington Forest is one of four Arlington diving teams participating in the league. Dominion Hills , Donaldson Run and Overlee are the others. Donaldson Run and Overlee return to Division I this summer, with Dominion Hills falling one position to Division III. Donaldson Run tied for second with a 3-1-1 mark last summer, Overlee was 2-3 and Dominion Hills 1-4. In June 17 season-openers for those three teams, Donaldson Run is at Vienna Woods, Overlee hosts Highlands of McLean and Hayfield Farm of Alexandria is at Dominion Hills. The five-week regular season NVSL dive meets start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday nights. The league’s season-ending individual all-star meet is Sunday, July 27 at Hunt Valley pool in Springfield.
