Authorities are searching for a woman on Monday who they say is charged with the murder of a Durham man earlier this year.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers are searching for 39-year-old Tiffany Springfield, who was charged in connection to the death of John Walker Jr., 39, in early February.

On Feb. 7, authorities found Walker unconscious in the parking lot of a business on the 2100 block of North Roxboro Street. Walker was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Authorities initially classified the case as a death investigation but later ruled it a homicide after discovering Walker died from injuries sustained in a carjacking.

Officers charged Springfield with murder in connection to Walker’s death.

Springfield is described as a Black woman, about 5’4” tall and weighing about 240 pounds. Police also provided a picture of Springfield, seen below.

Police are asking anyone with information on Springfield’s whereabouts or their investigation to call them at 919-560-4440 ext. 29538 or submit a CrimeStoppers tip online or at 919-683-1200.
