BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for portions of Southwest Virginia.

Bland, Giles, and Wythe counties are under the advisory until 2:15 PM.

Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage.

At 1109 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen and additional amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected.

Some locations impacted include Wytheville, Radford, and Pulaski.
