GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The No. 4 Florida lacrosse team fell to No. 1 North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament Semifinals on Friday by a score of 20-4.

With a dominant first quarter the Gators led 1-0 and 4-2 at two points and forced five turnovers by the Tar Heels.

Four Gators found the back of the net Friday afternoon including Kaitlyn Davies, Frannie Hahn, Clark Hamilton and Jordan Basso.

Davies caused five turnovers which set a new program record for an NCAA tournament game.

Georgia Hoey and Elyse Finnelle each made five saves as well.

“I was really proud of the group the first quarter. I think we came out with a fire. We started getting draw controls and I thought we were sharing the ball really well. Defensively we were coming up with some big stops to get our attack the opportunity to score. That first quarter, we were cooking.” said Head Coach Amanda O’Leary.
