Shop for a Cause
Want to get a start on your holiday shopping? How about a new couch for your den? Perhaps you'd like a new coat to keep you oh so cozy? Well, thanks to Zane Beadles – the former Denver Broncos offensive lineman – you can purchase all of those things guilt free and save a few bucks in the process. That's because this October marks the third offering of the Zane Beadles Parade Partner Card, a card which helps fight childhood cancer, and it works like this: Go to zanesparade.org to purchase a card and get discounts at participating retailers all over the Denver Metro.
The sale of each card ($60) supports the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation 501(c)(3), and it actually entitles you to some pretty fantastic discounts (usually up to 20 percent) at retailers like Alchemy Salon, Arhaus, The Container Store, D bar Restaurant, The Frye Company, Marmot, Kendra Scott, Jonathan Adler, Denver Darling Boutique, St. John Boutique, Tory Burch, The North Face, Vineyard Vines, and others, just to name a few.
It even includes a number of high-end jewelers and furniture stores. Nate Williams, a sales associate at Arhaus in Cherry Creek North, said that a customer came in looking to spend around $3,000 but ended up spending $30,000 refurnishing the house when they found out they'd honor the 20 percent discount.
And it's never to early to start thinking about the holidays, "I did all my holiday shopping during the 10 days. There were so many different retailers I was able to take advantage of the 20% discount and get all the gifts I was looking for on my list. Not only was I able to contribute to a wonderful cause... I also saved so much!" said Jeanette M, a Parade Partners Card shopper.
Not sure if your main haunts are included? You can find the complete list here.

The only catch? You have to shop between October 26 and November 4 and you have to go into the retail storefront listed.
As for Zane Beadles, his passion to help fight childhood cancer began in his college days when he was playing for the University of Utah. There he met Ryker, a seven-year-old boy who was battling terminal brain cancer. Ryker also loved the game of football and dreamed about becoming a professional football player, so it wasn't long before Zane and the team made him part of the Ute family. Thus, Ryker was invited into the team locker room during the season and he regularly got to go on the field.
Sadly, however, Ryker passed before he could fulfill his dream, but before he did, he requested that he be buried in a team jersey. That had a profound effect on Zane, and since then he has dedicated himself to giving back – beginning here in Denver.
So while Zane is no longer with the Broncos, his work here remains. To read more about the Zane Beadles Parade foundation, what they do, and what they've done, don't hesitate and check them out online. As for me, I think I'll skip the Black Friday mess, snag a few deals, and help end pediatric cancer.
