Initial reports suggest as many as 19 tornadoes hit Missouri over the weekend. Gov. Mike Kehoe’s Office said the twisters left widespread destruction in 27 Missouri counties – killing at least 12 people and leaving one person missing.

Hundreds of Missouri homes, schools, and businesses have been either destroyed or severely damaged.

EF-3 tornadoes in Butler, Ozark, Reynolds, and Carter Counties; EF-2 tornadoes in Jefferson, Franklin, Phelps, and Perry Counties, and EF-1 tornadoes in Wright, Franklin, and New Madrid Counties.

In Iron County, a tornado has been confirmed with damage rated at least an EF-3. In St. Louis County, the National Weather Service rated a tornado there at least an EF-2.

Not yet confirmed are suspected tornadoes in Howell, Oregon, Wayne, Madison, and Randolph Counties.

At the height of the storm, more than 140,000 homes and businesses were without power, and 101 roads were closed due to debris, flooding, and structural damage.
