It was a special night in high school hoops where three local Southwest Virginia basketball teams had the chance to punch their ticket to Richmond for state title games next week.

And prevailing once again were the Central Lady Warriors to highlight the night.

On a night where Emmah McAmis became just the second player ever in VHSL history to eclipse the 3,000 career-point mark, the Warriors pulled away from Ridgeview to advance to the Class 2 State title game for the fourth straight season.

Meanwhile in Class 1, both Honaker girls and Patrick Henry boys fell short at the hands of George Wythe - putting an end to each of their historic seasons.
