The General Tire 150 is a 150-mile annual ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series West race held at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. It’s scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Friday, March 7, and you can watch it on Fox Sports 2 and live stream it on fubo TV (FREE trial), DirecTV Stream (FREE trial and discount) and Sling TV (discount). The inaugural race was held on March 6, 2020, and was won by Chandler Smith. In 2021, the ARCA Menards Series West joined the ARCA Menards Series in this race, making it a combination race for both series. Other winners include Ty Gibbs, Taylor Gray, Tyler Reif and William Sawalich. Sawalich, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, would dominate the majority of last year’s race, winning the pole and leading a race-high 66 laps to earn his fifth career ARCA Menards Series win, his second career ARCA Menards Series West win, and his first of the season. Sawalich’s closest competition was Gio Ruggiero, who led 49 laps in the race before finishing in second. To fill out the podium, Ruggiero, driving for Venturini Motorsports, and Grant Enfinger, driving for Sigma Performance Services, would finish runner-up and third, respectively. This is the season’s second race. The opener was on Jan. 25 at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. Trevor Huddleston, who saw a potential victory there disappear last year, fended off a hard-charging Kyle Keller for the victory after dominating the entire race. Huddleston did everything possible to keep Keller in his rearview mirror as the laps dwindled. As Keller pulled alongside at the white flag, Huddleston successfully used the slower car of David Smith as a pick to finally notch a victory at Kern on his resume, according to an arcaracing.com story . Huddleston was elated to celebrate in Victory Lane with his dad and Kern County track operator Tim Huddleston, who was the one to interview him. He also commended Keller for engaging in a fair-but-clean battle until the checkered flag. “That’s how you race a race,” he said. “[Keller] ran it perfect and didn’t use me up at all. He was going for that win, but he got unlucky with [Smith] there. I saw that out my windshield, and I had to do what I had to do.”
