Kirk Cousins is back in Washington D.C., but he isn’t at a football facility. The Falcons quarterback, who spent his first six NFL seasons in the nation’s capital, met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Friday. Margo Martin, a special assistant to the president and communications advisor, posted a photo on X captioned “#18 🤝#47″, referencing Cousins' jersey number in Atlanta and Trump being the 47th president of the United States. Cousins also let fans know he was in Washington D.C. , posting photos of he and his wife, Julie, at the Capitol Building where they were engaged 11 years ago and a photo with former Washington wide receiver and teammate Santana Moss at DC Prime Steaks. Cousins, 36 , was a star at Holland Christian and Michigan State before entering the NFL. He is facing some uncertainty this offseason for the first time in a long time after the F alcons benched him for rookie Michael Penix Jr. in December. Cousins will be 37 by the start of the 2025 season and nearly two years removed from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon. As a starting quarterback, he’s 83-74-2 in 159 games across 13 seasons with Washington, Minnesota and Atlanta.
