A man died in the hospital Friday night after he was shot in Springfield, Ryan Walsh, a spokesperson for the Springfield Police Department, posted on X .

Police found the man, who was not identified, inside a vehicle on the 100 block of Orange Street at around 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Walsh wrote. He was then driven to Baystate Medical Center, where he died.

The incident is under investigation by the Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit under the direction of Captian Trent Duda along with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit, the post states.
