DENVER, Colo. – The NCAA men's basketball tournament has officially begun, and two teams from our region are in action today. The Montana Grizzlies start their journey against the Wisconsin Badgers in Denver. The Grizzlies, a 14 seed, face the third-seeded Badgers. Montana earned their spot by winning the conference championship in Idaho over Northern Colorado, finishing their season with a 25-9 record. The Badgers enter the tournament with a 26-9 record after a recent loss to Michigan in the Big Ten Conference Championship. Meanwhile, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are preparing to kick off their tournament run in Wichita. NonStop Local's Noah Bolter is on the scene to follow the Gonzaga men's basketball team. Fans in Wichita have the opportunity to engage in a unique activity. Just south of the arena, Harvester Hearts, a local non-profit, offers a chance to paint dinosaur sculptures from the upcoming Somewhere Fest music festival. Janine from Harvester Hearts explained, "Yeah so right now Harvester Hearts has the Gallery Place Project team out here painting these dinosaurs. These dinosaurs are from Somewhere Fest, a music festival that's going to be happening in Wichita in June." Janine encouraged fans to participate: "Yes, yes. Come paint them up. Paint your team colors. Paint a jersey on them. Give them a little rub on the head for good luck." On the women's side, the Bobcat women have secured the number 13 seed in Region 3 of the tournament. They continue their impressive season, having won the conference tournament. The Bobcats will face the fourth seed, Ohio State, in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday. The Buckeyes hold a 25-6 record after losing to UCLA in the Big Ten Championship, while the Bobcats boast a 30-3 record, recently achieving a buzzer-beater win against the Grizzlies.
