Lohardaga district's 42nd foundation day celebration was held on Saturday at the Collectorate ground. The Vikas Mela was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other guests. On this occasion, various departments of the district administration set up stalls in the fair which was named Vikas Mela. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Lohardaga district was formed in the year 1983, after which this district continued to move forward on the path of development. The Deputy Commissioner said that mutual coordination, goodwill and participation are the foundation of the development of any district. Without this, no one can move forward on the path of development. All students should remember that progress cannot happen with unrest. For this, we all have to live together respecting each other. The team of the district administration is always working for the upliftment of the youth. He said that at present the number of candidates preparing for engineering and medical entrance examinations has increased in Homi J Bhabha Coaching Institute run by the district administration. This initiative was taken by the district administration for the preparation of those students who could not afford the expenses of coaching institutes for the preparation of these entrance examinations. Today, students themselves are coming to coaching institutes and getting themselves registered. Students also wish to prepare here and get themselves enrolled in institutes like AIIMS and IIT. Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said that at one time Lohardaga district was in the category of highly Naxal-affected district. The former Superintendent of Police also lost his life due to Naxalism. But today the situation is different, the roots of Naxalism have become hollow and Lohardaga district is rapidly progressing towards development. Under the leadership of the present Deputy Commissioner, the district has got a different identity at the national level where the poor students are being prepared for NEET and IIT entrance examinations free of cost. Two children from this district have also got success in the IIT/JEE Mains examination. New establishments are constantly opening in the district. Health facilities are increasing. Educational institutions are opening. He said that Lohardaga district will be known as twin city with Ranchi district in the next 7-8 years. The future of students here is bright. Police is always ready to serve the general public round the clock. On this occasion, assets were distributed. In the program, students who performed well in 10th and 12th class examinations this year were honored by giving certificates by the Deputy Commissioner and other guests. In the painting competition, Stuti Raj Singh was given first prize, Riya Kumari and Meenakshi Kumari were given second prize and Komal Prajapati and Reshma Kumari were given third prize. In the speech competition, Smriti Mahato was given first prize, Shivani Khakha was given second prize and Tahseen Parveen was given third prize. In the program, students of various schools performed Nagpuri group dance. Before this, the stalls were inspected by the guests. A total of 25 stalls were set up in the development fair. Forest Division Officer Abhishek Kumar, District Council President Reena Kumari, Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, MLA representative Nishith Jaiswal, District Council Vice President Vinod Oraon, District Council Member Kisko Sandeep Kumar, District Council Member Senha Radha Tirkey, District Council Member Caro Sukhdev Oraon along with district level and block level officers were present in the program.
