Former Nebraska baseball star Alex Gordon was inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame on Friday afternoon. The announcement was posted on social media.

The left fielder had a decorated career for Nebraska, and played for the Huskers from 2003-2005. He was a career. 355 hitter, and finished in the top 10 in eight offensive categories. He had 44 total homers, 249 total hits, 188 total runs, and 11 triples.

In 2004, he had one of the best offensive seasons in school history. That year, he had 18 home runs and 75 runs batted in. He also walked 47 times and finished with a .365 average.

He was a Golden spikes award winner in 2005, and won the Dick Howser Trophy that same year. The Dick Howser Trophy is given to the best player in college baseball. That year, he finished with a .372 average, and hit 19 home runs with 66 RBIs.

The success on the college diamond translated well to the Kansas City Royals . He was an eight-time Gold Glove award winner and a three-time All-Star. He was part of the Royals team that won the World Series in 2015.

All in all, Gordon had tremendous success at all levels of his baseball career. Now, he will be immortalized forever among the Royals greats.
