The course runs through the Denver Zoo and plenty of local favorite spots.

The Colfax Marathon is one of Denver’s most popular running events and draws a large crowd every year. The annual event is about to celebrate its 15th year, and has added a new Half Marathon course—this one has some interesting run-throughs.

The Colfax Marathon will be held Sunday, May 17, 2020, and starts out at City Park. The course then heads through the Capitol, Civic Center Park, Cathedral Basilica, VooDoo Donuts, Irish Snug, 16th Street Mall, and more iconic local locations. We believe that the coolest part of the new course is the run-through of Denver Fire Station No. 1. The fire station will have firefighters on had to high five runners and they pass through. This is the only race in the entire United States to have a fire station run-through, and we think that’s pretty darn awesome.

The Epic Mile through Denver Zoo is still part of the course, so runners can catch a glimpse of some animal life. This is also the only race in the city to run through the Denver Zoo.

Another treat for thirsty runners; the folks from the Colorado Firefighter Calendar will be on the course providing some pep talks and support for runners along the way. The race finishes off on 17th Street and then 17th Avenue, before heading into City Park for an epic after-party.

Runners have a lot of choices for events on May 17; the Colfax Marathon and Half Marathon, the Marathon Relay, the Urban 10 Miler, Corporate Relay, and Government relay. Registration is open at RunColfax.org for all these events, plus the Colfax 5K, which takes place on May 16, 2020.

This looks like one amazing way to spend a sunny day in May, and we know it will be a great turnout.
