To celebrate its newest location, the store is donating $10,000 to Someplace Safe.
ALEXANDRIA — The wait is over. TJ Maxx , an off-price retailer with more than 1,300 stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico, will open at Viking Plaza Mall in Alexandria on Sunday, March 16. In a news release, TJ Maxx said it will offer deals on brand name and designer fashion, accessories, jewelry, home, beauty and more. Shoppers in Alexandria will get quality goods and on-trend styles at the latest TJ Maxx store, the release said. “We’re thrilled to join the Alexandria community,” said Nancy Carpenter, President of TJ Maxx. “We look forward to providing local shoppers with an ever-changing selection of high-quality merchandise at exceptional value so they can express their true ‘maxx’ selves.” Grand openingOn March 16 starting at 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., local shoppers in Alexandria can join the celebration of the newest location. TJ Maxx buyers work with thousands of top brands and designers from around the world to source the most desirable pieces at prices that work for customers, according to Carpenter. In celebration of its new Alexandria location, TJ Maxx will contribute to the local community by donating $10,000 to Someplace Safe, a nonprofit, 501c3, agency, incorporated in 1979. It offers a variety of services to victims and survivors of crime, families, and communities in a nine-county region in West Central Minnesota, including Douglas County. The new store will also join all other stores nationwide in sponsoring Save the Children’s U.S. programs through TJ Maxx's annual in-store fundraising campaign.
