Florida's basketball 's seed for the SEC Tournament is set, but its path remains less clear. The nation’s fifth-ranked Florida Gators (27-4, 14-4 SEC) will open SEC Tournament action on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, after earning a double-bye by finishing second in the conference. Florida has won nine of its last 10 games and closed the regular season with a 90-71 win over Ole Miss on Saturday. The Gators are in position to lock down their first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament since 2014, which also was the last year UF won the SEC Tournament. UF's 14 SEC regular-season wins are its most since going 14-4 in the conference in 2016-17, a season that ended with UF reaching the Elite Eight. “Just incredibly proud of our program," Florida basketball coach Todd Golden said. "Obviously, a great regular season, 27 wins. To go 14-4 in the league and to finish the regular season the way we did today, just can’t say enough about the job our players did this year and that my staff was able to do from start to finish."
