BALTIMORE, MD — A man was found fatally shot early Sunday morning in the city’s Southern District, prompting an active homicide investigation by Baltimore Police.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:47 a.m. on May 11 in the 3500 block of 2nd Street. When they arrived, they discovered a 37-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, and no suspects or motive have been disclosed as of Sunday night. Homicide detectives have taken over the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
